I am so glad that I just got my kindle fire hd last week. Gotta love when you miss out on deals by just that much.

My tablet replaced my ebook reader, which is funny since I used to be a defender of ebook readers over tablets with the typical explanations: weeks of battery life vs. 8-10 hours, less eye fatigue, etc. But after using my tablet to read a book, I basically put my ebook reader in a box and it's collecting dust. Yes, much higher battery life, but really, 8-10 hours is pretty much the same, as I rarely go over 2 hours in my reading sessions. On the less eye fatigue, I found it actually false (my own argument LOL), probably because I'm used to looking at a monitor screen for hours and hours, it not only doesn't cause any fatigue, it's probably even better since it doesn't need external light.

I wonder if flight attendants will make me turn it off though (10" tablet). Last time I flew, guess they thought it was a laptop and made me stow it under the seat in front of me.

I agree with what you are saying concerning ereaders vs. tablets. I too had a Kindle and loved it. But I caught a great deal on a TF 300T 10.1" tablet and never looked back at my Kindle.

I'll keep my Sony reader. Far better quality and no Amazon.
