I have an Asus PB278 which is 27" and 1440. I also find the 109 PPI more pleasing, and it no longer seems like my smartphone display is kicking butt compared to my PC monitor. On the other hand, I don't think significantly more PPI would be noticeable, so I can't see investing in a 4K (Ultra HD) monitor unless it's for a much larger display size like 40" which then also results in 109 PPI.

I will wait for the 32 inch version, the Acer B326HK. If it's under 1000 bucks.

1080 is still the sweet spot? I hope it won't remain so for a long time as I've moved past it and I can't go back.

I don't know how anyone can still use a mere 1080 display on their PC.

What happened to the XB280HK that was supposed to have the Nvidia Gsync built in? That was supposed to come out by end of the second quarter I thought. Instead, we get this.

Great point txfeinbergs! I was about to pull the trigger and buy this, but then noticed it wasn't the G-Sync version Acer was touting about back in June. I guess I'll have to wait a bit while longer until the ellusive 4K monitor with G-Sync becomes available...

*UPDATE* I just found this article regarding the G-Sync version of this monitor. The bad news --> Acer decided to make it a 1080P resolution monitor :(

Here's the link to the article:

Looks like I'll be looking elsewhere...

There seems to be something missing of the Datasheet of 4K monitors

Power Draw

The only thing I could find doesn't make any sense...

What the heck's a JiggaWatt?

Doc Brown needed 1.21 jiggawatts for something or other he was working on...

The Mac

Something about falling off the toilet and banging his head i believe.

lol

The Mac

same as a gigawatt (1000 Megawatts).

They are interchangeable.

The PPI of a 1440 display is much more satisfactory in my eyes, and won't rape my hardware. It seems ASUS is the only OEM understanding this. That gaming 1440 you guys talked about earlier is very tantalizing.
