These emoticons are not hidden, down in the message area, just click on the little smiley and a popup window comes up with all the emoticons you listed.

Yes, but these are HIDDEN emoticons...ie: ones that are not available to select from the normal menu.

You can also try this in Google Hangouts (if you use it). Typing "LOLOLOLOL" or "Happy Birthday" for instance will give you a funny little animation along with your message.
